OSSSC Functions

A statutory body, the Commission has to primarily deal with conduct of recruitment examinations for District Cadre Group-C civil Posts and Services and hence to perform all statutory functions, frame policies and undertake all activities required for and incidental to successful conduct of recruitment examinations and selection of manpower within the basic framework of the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection (District Cadre) Rules, 2012 & relevant recruitment rules. As required under Rule 3(9) of the Rules, the Commission is empowered to frame its own Regulations to carry out the different processes of recruitment.

The examination fee and the scale of remuneration for various functionaries involved in conduct of recruitment examinations are also required to be fixed by the Commission from time to time. It has also to constitute various Boards and Committees for carrying out various administrative and recruitment related activities.
